WovenWell offers several paths to funding. Check the status of our grant cycles below, then review the priorities, eligibility, and application guidance to find the opportunity that fits your work.

RFPs

OPENS JANUARY 6, 2027

WovenWell issues one or more Requests for Proposals each January. The primary annual funding cycle runs from January through May.

January 2027's planned RFP encompasses initiatives that fall into the following category: "Promoting Community Well-Being through Recreation, Parks, and Trails"

Additional Opportunities

NONE CURRENTLY OPEN

Additional RFPs may be offered later in the year as funding and community opportunities allow.

Mini-Grants

OPEN

Mini-grants applications, for qualifying initiatives and organizations requesting funding up to $5,000, are accepted on a rolling basis until the annual allocation is fully committed.  

What WovenWell Funds

We support community-driven initiatives that improve well-being in Mercer County, PA and align with the priorities identified for each opportunity. The strongest applications clearly explain the need or opportunity, the people and places involved, the intended result, and how the work builds on community strengths.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be a tax exempt, non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Applicants must be located within Mercer County, PA.
  • Faith-based organizations must welcome all faiths and participation in religious activity participation must be
    clearly defined as optional.
  • Applicant’s efforts must serve individuals, aged 18 and under, who reside in Mercer County, PA.
  • Previous grantees of WovenWell must have fulfilled the required 18 month waiting period from their last grant award and all previous grants must be closed (all grant reporting completed and any unused funds returned).

Grant Exclusions

WovenWell will not fund:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit entities
  • Lobbying/political campaigns
  • Debt reduction/existing financial obligations
  • Foreign operations or expenditures
  • Fundraising event sponsorship
  • Membership in civic organizations
  • Endowment support
  • Supplemental funding to previously awarded grants or existing programs.
  • Direct payment to a pediatric care provider.
  • Research projects, such as clinical trials.
  • Health fairs or other one-time events.
  • Additional expenses may be disallowed at the discretion of BRHF

This is not an exclusive list. Our staff, Grants Committee and Board of Directors will determine all inclusions and exclusions.

How to Apply

  1. Check the current status. Confirm that the opportunity is open and review its deadline.
  2. Read the full guidance. Review eligibility, priorities, required materials, and exclusions before beginning.
  3. Prepare your information. Gather the project description, budget, organizational details, partners, outcomes, and other required materials.
  4. Apply through the portal. Use the application link associated with the opportunity.
  5. Watch for next steps. WovenWell will communicate the review timeline and any follow-up requirements.
