Youth Grief Support

Helping young people navigate grief through connection, expression, and shared experience.

Grief can feel confusing and isolating for children and teens. WovenWell works with trusted community partners to connect young people with free, age-appropriate opportunities to process loss, build coping skills, and know they are not alone.

Ninja Courage

Ninja Courage is a free, session-based experience for young people in grades 7–12. It combines movement, mindfulness, connection, and age-appropriate grief support in a format designed for older youth.

In partnership with Baker Professional Counseling and Elite Ninja, this group gives teens in grades 7th–12th a space to:

  • Talk about loss in a safe, understanding place
  • Learn ways to handle tough emotions
  • Use movement and mindfulness to feel grounded and strong
  • Connect with others who “get it” to find hope, confidence, and healing

Sessions meet once each week for a set number of weeks and may be offered more than once during the year.

Camp Courage

Camp Courage helps children who are experiencing grief and loss by incorporating the fun of camp along with healing activities to help them...

  • Understand that their feelings are normal
  • Realize that they're not alone in their grief
  • Learn that it’s OK to have fun while still grieving
  • Have the opportunity to share their loss and memories

Activities at camp are designed to help kids learn different coping skills, build resilience and have fun.

  • Team building activities help develop social skills and emphasize the importance of helping others
  • Games teach coping skills that help youth deal with life’s daily stressors in addition to grief
  • Arts and crafts help kids express emotions for times when words fall short
  • Decompression times help youth learn ways of handling stress and calming strategies

*A licensed independent social worker with grief certification is on-site all week to assist youth with any special needs. All staff and volunteers go through training prior to camp as well as background checks.

Registration Closed

Our 6th annual Camp Courage will be held from July 26th - July 30th, 2027. Registration will open in March 2027.

Propose a Camp Courage activity

Local organizations, businesses, and independent artists are invited to suggest age-appropriate activities that could enrich Camp Courage. Activities should support the day’s book, lesson, or grief-support focus and must fit the program’s safety and participation needs.
